Well, "love" may be too strong, but I have no problems with any of the strips that have run since I last posted. Despite what I see as a weak lead-in to the story line, Kurtz is handling the arc with a humor and pacing that isn't bad.
Sorry to disappoint.

Uh oh. Not getting soft on us, are ya?
He's not going to randomly attack PvP. The last few strips have been the best PvPs in a long time.
I'm sure he'll be back as soon as PvP starts making him sad again.
So... why don't you give a positive critique then? Talk about what you DO like about them, rather than just saying that you don't have a problem with them. Did you say this was a writing exercise for you?
It's fruitless to only post the negative. If he's "handling the arc" well, talk about why you feel that way. If you truly want PvP to be better, than you need to run your mouth in both directions.
This is all part of Kurtz' master plan. Soon, all critics shall be silenced. Mwahahaha.
Might God King made a good point about Kurtz hypocritically spending too much time with serious issues. It's his comic so he can do wtf he wants with it, no argument there. But PVP has become a strip for insiders, and if you don't know or care about the characters, it's pointless to read it. No gaming jokes anymore means he'd better keep his fan base happy, because he's not adding to it.
"The last few strips have been the best PvPs in a long time" -- really? I think it's turning into a weepy soap opera rife with sexist stereotypes and sitcom-level characterization (Brent would suddenly turn into a bipolar caveman after a few drinks?). And the fact that Cole's crisis is taking place entirely off-stage suggests that either Scott doesn't know how to write domestic drama or can't be bothered to come up with new character art to cut and paste.
Wow. That last comment from anon nails what TFSM can't seem to be bothered with.
Brent doesn't "turn into a bipolar caveman" - the situation in that strip is that he's trying to show solidarity with Cole (by hating on women, which might not be the best way to go about things but is certainly in character for Brent) but he also doesn't want to cause trouble with Jade.
Kurtz could still have ruined the joke with poor execution, but so far this storyline is shaping up to be genuinely entertaining, which is more than I can say for, well, 2007.
This isn't a storyline about Cole's domestic drama. This is a storyline about Brent trying to comfort Cole.
you realize you are already beyond redemption for the PvP fanboys...and now you are just annoying the rest of us, right? =)
I foresee this blog dwindling a little more with each passing day, until "The Fake Scott McCloud" decides he's just too busy to devote so much time to a comic he, at that point, will also not have time for.
You son of a bitch. I come here for complaints. Serve 'em up! ;)
I have the same thought ... it was a great experiment, but probably short-lived. Sadly!
