I LOLed. I really did.

The direction the story is headed is really good.

Rescue Party was fine -- I'm so over the main characters right now I don't even want to see them, but the final panel was very nice.

Please pull the camera back more often!

Trippin made me LOL for real. By the third panel I was all set to try and predict what would be happening with the Woodland Creatures, but to have them be a shroom induced hallucination made for a great last panel.

I look forward to hallucinatory adventures with Skull, but even if we don't get them this strip was worth Skull's getting lost.

I hope doesnt get bored and cut/or rush this part of the story like he did
with the paint gun game.

The final panel in Rescue Party was wonderful, It's great to see Scott experiment more with his art.

i LOLed too. i cannot ever remember actually physically laughing at PvP before this, so, good job, scott!

I also LOLed. I must say, however, that I saw the joke coming from the last panel of Rescue Party. Hallucinatory mushrooms were the first thing I thought of. But maybe that's just me. ;-)

Regardless of whether or not the joke was telescoped and obvious, I still thought it was funny.

Yeah I love the full body shot and the scenery shots from the last few strips, I never said scott didnt have artistic chops.
Plus the last few comics have been consistently funny.
Are we going to see the PVP crew as fuzzy woodland creatures?

I laughed for a good minute. That was a great strip.

Not sure about pulling back the camera though. His characters tend to have giant pant legs whenever he does. It always looks odd. I don't think he's used to it. I'm just glad more background is getting drawn in. His strips at the office are usually blank.

this weekend's strips are a real win.

So when the physical-comedy-centric Skull was eating mysterious mushrooms in the woods and talking to woodland creatures, in a strip called "Trippin", you didn't see a trip coming? OK...

Never commented here before, but I've read it a few times out of fascination - could anyone satisfy my curiosity as to why you spend so much time critiquing *one* comic, that you don't even like? If you did two comics, you could hear twice as much of your own voice...

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!!!! Everybody's a critic! We got a critic criticizing a comic, we got the comic's idiot fans coming here and criticizing the blogger's critiques, we got other people critizing the critiquers. You know what? You're all a bunch of fucking idiots for even wasting your breath slinging shit.

And I'm an idiot for wasting my time saying this to all of you.

Yes, you are an idiot. Thanks for coming!

The woodland creatures are drawn well. The squirrel has a very dynamic stance in panel 2, and his nutty grin in panel 3 is pretty funny.

A simple background and good strong emotions from the "actors" go a long way to making a joke funny.

He doesn't pull the camera back often, but when he does, there is always a flood of compliments. Maybe he just saves those tidbits for us to have once in a while. I don't know. I do know that the frames have become more and more crowded with heads and shoulders over the past year or so. So, yeah, please pull back the camera more often. You can draw feet, man. So draw them!

Yes I agree you are an idiot

Oh and we can't come any talk about a comic strip? I DO like PVP, I read it every day, and have been mostly positive. But why the hell can't someone talk about *one* thing. So youd be pissed if someone talked about one show, one movie, one sports team? Thats an idiotic comment. Plus, the fact that this is a PVP comic forum, do you want us to talk about marmelduke?

There's a new strip, what are your thoughs people?

How about a forum for PVPonline makes me sad?

Man, you know, I reckon the real reason Kurtz acts like a petulent madman is because the people on his own goddamn forum are all a BUNCH OF HUGE WHINY BITCHES. Have you read some of those things...? It is staggering, the breadth and width of STUPID these people encompass. I mean it; you could harness the power of their dumb and rule the cosmos.

TFSM, if you want to take Jacob's suggestion for a forum (which looks like it would be in high demand, I know I would join) I would suggest http://www.freeforums.org/ if you don't want to pay or anything.

Forget starting a new thread on the HalfPixel forum that would even remotely be critical of Scott or PvP...

I use this site to make my comments because, the last time I was on the PvP forums, they were being moderated by some pal of Scott's, and heaven forbid you make anything but a suck up praise comment... Your post would be deleted and you would be banned from the forum...

You either conceded the fact that Scott walked on water or "Joe" would make sure you weren't coming back...

At least on here, I can state my opinion, for what it's worth, and not have to worry about someone silencing me to save Scott's crystal-fragile ego...

Some quickie quick notes:

Acorns is a good strip and a decent laugh. However, I don't like that the squirrel now has a much-bigger head (Compare it to the previous strip). And as far as continuity goes, I *think* I'd have preferred it if Skull looked normal still in the panels where he's hallucinating (As he did in the previous strip). Oh, and the squirrel needs a comma.

Alone in the dark is a strong strip with a weak-ass final panel. If the final panel had been a repeat of the 3rd and 4th panels sans Francis and with a small explosion of leaves from the bush indicating Francis had been dragged into it... well, it would've been much more effective than that shot of a flock of birds in the sky. My BIG complaints, however, is that it is NOT dark like they are saying (Another reason to COLOR THE STRIP, PLEASE I'M BEGGING YOU), and Francis AGAIN has no hairline on the back of his head (First panel). And you know what, I'm sick of that shot of him, anyway. It swells the size of his chin up to Pac-Man-like proportions so that it looks like half of his face is comprised of chin.

I love the site's navigation buttons being to the side.

If Mr. Kurtz wants to move to a 5-a-week schedule, that's fine with me. It's obvious that he wants to, and ideally it would mean that the two weakest strips of each week get left on the cutting room floor. That isn't what it REALLY means, unfortunately, because Mr. Kurtz apparently does not do a single lick of work in advance. We would still probably have one or both of those "weakest strips", but we'd lack any evidence to support that theory.

The idea of having a message board for this blog sounds awfully weird to me. I suppose it would be yet another testament to how popular PVP is. I'd sign up for such a forum, but I do want to say that the idea is strange to me.

Yeah I'm not a big fan of the PvP forums. With all the stupid images they post, it reminds me of Fark.com. Some threads get ruined as soon as they're started.

I think Scott (Kurtz) should open a new forum. One for threads about the strip, the merchandise, fanart, guest strips, everything PvP related. Then leave the other forum as "PvP Community" and let them talk about Vista, Chuck Norris and all that jazz.

It's just really daunting for a new PvP fan to get involved in a well established community like that.

I think the idea of a forum came up because we like to chat about each strip and unless FSM creates more blog posts, the comments can get a little crowded and confusing.

I don't mind really.

Oh and nice one Scott for allowing PW ads to help out the little guys and gals of webcomics. You get 10 points for that buddy.

pvponline (Twitter): "Fuck you. You fucking dick. Always naysaying. Everythign I create. You piece of shit."

I wonder if this was directed at someone on here or did he just post it to see how we'd react. :D

I actually liked the final strip of alone in the dark. Very Hitchcock. To get us just up to the point where we're (not really, since it's a comic strip, but supposedly) holding our breath, we know something will happen, but the character doesn't and then pull away to a wide shot. Now you'll see it in many movies, when they're about to shoot someone, the camera will suddenly pull away and they'll get a wide shot of the forest. The birds flying up are pretty classic too.

I fairly well like where the strip has been going recently.

I guess no one really noticed that the woodland creatures were characters from the syndicated strip "Over The Hedge." A little shout-out, I guess, and nice little one at that.
