Just kidding. It did sneak up on me though, I had no idea we were right on top of it. This is where a real bachelor party strip would have helped me out -- "Tomorrow's the day man..."
The strip is cloyingly sweet, but I can't fault that. This wedding is not going to be played for gags.
(Totally off topic: I can't look at the title of today's strip without thinking of a particular feminine hygiene product. Damn you Madison Avenue!)

I hope he draws the paintball critic guy into the audience at the wedding. That would be priceless.
Oh, the wedding audience is ripe for filling with random and potentially humorous attendees. My bet is on Tycho and Gabe sitting in there. And of course Scott's dad will be there, too.
From Thursday on their cares are over, from Thursday on they'll be in clover, they picked on Thursday because it's.... as good a day as any I guessday.
"I became Jade Sienna the day we met?"
What is this crap? Does he even know the history of his own characters?
Um...if we remember the date on the invitation was May 4th. my bet is on the actual ido's being on the fourth and these strips are and expansion of that actual day.
So he's retconning it such that she took his name on their first day working together even though they weren't even dating for ages? And she didn't tell him about it?! Pointless.
I don't understand the latest strip. Jade is already standing right by Brent and Skull says "Here she comes" and Brent goes "wow"?
Am I missing something?
Yeah, that's Miranda.
Oh yeah, I got confused for a moment there because she's starring at Brent. *blush*

She's referring to destiny..
It's a romantic statement on the most romantic of days.
Hardly a literal statement of fact.. Sheesh!
Yep. People (one could say women especially, but I won't) tend to retcon their own stories so they sound like the romantic fantasies they want to live. This would be especially true on a couple's wedding day. This is actually appropriate writing for Scott to do - even though we might have hoped that Jade was made of slightly sterner, even a touch cynical, stuff, and wouldn't get quite that gag-inducing.
While Scott was working on that strip (on ustream) he originally used "I became Jade Sienna the first time we kissed"
I think he chose the right line then, because "I became Jade Sienna the moment we kissed" would have been hilarious.
I'm also ok with the retcon by Jade, that's just typical human behavior.
caren w.- Maybe she's thinking about the surprise she and Jade have planned for the wedding night. Readership will skyrocket!
