Um....yeah. Scratch got fooled and now our unaamed spirit guy is calling security on him. Oh noes, how will he get out of this one?
Actually, I'm willing to bet imaginary internet money that security turns out to be Skull. Having been unsuccessful with his new children, the company took pity on him and gave him a job as their resident rent a cop.
Scratch's wince/grimace/oh $hit moment in the last panel is nice, but would work so much better without the ridiculous goggles.

the lack of posts do not surprise me. This storyline is not only boring...in a very real way he is copying the Brent/statue wedding trope.
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Complete agreed that security detail is going to be Skull.
That, or Scratch gets thrown out and finds Skull outside gardening or some such. Or gets thrown in detention and finds Skull there too. Or gets thrown out, goes back to Shecky's bar with his tail between his legs, and finds that Skull has shown up there in the meantime to visit Shecky.
One of those.
Even money on either the Skull theory, or this is a set up so Scratch fulfill the pseudo-Vin Diesal fantasy and go ape-shit on whatever security shows up.
This is just a boring strip. There aren't even suspense lines in the last panel to show surprise at the "double-cross." It's that not suspensefull.
Also, why would E.Z. care if his head gets blown off again? He reappears in another statue somewhere, big whoop. Let that happen and he can appear somewhere else outside the office (I still say a desk Trollz would be funny) and catch Scratch by surprise with security.
why are you people reading this strip? If it's so bad, there is absolutely no argument you could make that would explain why you come here every day to discuss it in such detail.
and our weekly visit from the "why do you read it" fairy is here.
Because it once was very good and we hope it gets back that again. Even despite our conversations average for this strip is still in the better end for webcomics. Sadly that rut (for most people) has been going on for months, with a few sparks goodness. If it continues, don't worry we wont
Can we post something like that somewhere, with better writing, to answer that?
you should, because if this site had a mission-statement, I fear if flew way off course months and months ago.
I personally think it's hubris to think that this blog will change PvP or its author at all.
I also think that if you guys are going to be some center of honesty on the net about PvP, that should extend to its fans. You can't just dismiss everyone who disagrees with you as fanboys or fairies.
If this site has a purpose beyond shitting on PvP and Scott Kurtz, it should make it more clear to the average newcomer
I don't think there is an intention to change PVP. Maybe some people here hope to do such. I can't speak for other people, but I just like shitting on PVP and Kurtz to entertain myself until it either gets good again or I finally give up on it.
"If this site has a purpose beyond shitting on PvP and Scott Kurtz, it should make it more clear to the average newcomer"
Luckily, as the type of moron that comes here and spouts the 'If you hate it so much...' line is relatively rare, we realise that the "average newcomer" is a lot more intelligent and doesn't really need to have such an obvious concept pointed out to them.
Why cater to someone who would still make such a dumbass comment even with your proposed mission statement. They're already the type of people who'd speak before considering the possibilities so they'd dismiss (or simply not bother reading) such a claim.
I think that all the people who post in serious ways here, were at least once fans of PvP...even if they are not now. (I know I fall in that category) Or, they aren't fans but they see potential in the comic to become fans.
Now, if you wonder why this does not all occur in some dry academic scholarly way, but also generates 'teh dramaz' I think that is an admixture of the fact that we sometimes like to have a good time + trolls + Scott Kurtz occasionally pulling the 'drama' lever himself.
If you come here to say 'if you hate the strip so much, just don't read it!' Then you've missed the point in multiple ways.
First, that you have to like something to enjoy critiquing it: I hate CAD, but I have no problem joking about it with my friends. (Nor does Scott, apparently, and I don't think his criticism comes from a place of love either.)
Second, you, anonymous poster...have spent valuable time to come here and post to tell us not to waste our time. At least we are enjoying the reading/posting here...what's your excuse?
Third, and most important: I have the black bubble-gum card, I'm like rubber, you're like glue, it bounces off me and sticks to you!
(mmmm kindergarden)
LATE. AGAIN.
God, he fucks off the weekends, fucks off doing color strips, fucks off doing just about everything he did for nearly a decade, and he STILL CAN'T FIND THE TIME OR MOTIVATION to deliver a weekday strip ON TIME!
Fucking lazy is what that is. Nothing else.
I am not disappointed in the current story line. I happen to enjoy PVP and being a cartoonist myself understand ups and downs in ideas. What I am disappointed in is the fact that the comic is late. I find this frustrating considering that they preach being on time and keeping a buffer in the HTMWC book. Scott is a pro, PVP is his job. I still have a full time job and manage to get my comic out on time, or if I am late I am sure to apologize. But Scott doesn't have much of an excuse. What does he do at his studio all day. If I didn't get my work done at work I would be written up and eventually fired.
Well, yeah. He did lose the weekends to ease up on the pressure and help create a buffer. Presumably, he failed to follow through with that plan, if going by the recent spate of late strips is any sign.
Maybe he could lose Mondays too and put out an 'on time' four day strip? Of course, as a by-product, dull arcs would stretch out for even longer than they do now.
@1056 pm anonymus
I don't believe I ever said I wanted to change it and I have said Kurtz should do his own thing, and not listen to anyone unless he asks for help.
Btw fanboi is a person likely from Kurtz's own forum that comes in and basically does the same thing as in "Why do you complain if you don't like, its a free webcomic, you can't do it yourself, etc." If someone had a differing opinion and expressed it in a cogent, well-thought point and open to discussion they'd be accepted. Sadly most of those people are not capable of that.
Hell Paul Southworth has had somewhat logical discussions with people on here too (thats commenting on both his and our side) and Im guessing he's a little more pro-Kurtz than Pro-PVPMMS (after all we are pedantic)
And like RW said (we're buddies after all) Kurtz goes out of his way to comment on and his OWN FORUM has 20-30 page threads about the quality of CAD and im sure the debate and commenters there are filled with love for the Buckley.
(btw CAD has increased quality wise recently, not great but better)
Btw the late strips are likely due to the fact he is sick.
But yeah that buffer idea kinda went by the wayside.
Yeah... ole Kurtz does seem to have a problem with the procrastination. Since he's both sick and just lost his cat I can understand why he doesn't have the energy to create a strip right now, but jeeze that's where the buffer comes in handy. If he just kept up the 7-day schedule for one more month he'd have one week's worth of buffers.
Whatever. Shit like this makes me even more glad I'm a weekly reader these days instead of a daily.

To me, this site does have a purpose. But, if you think I'm trying to affect social change or save the web-comic world by posting here; then you're the one who's delusional. And, the fact that you think you can protect the world from the likes of 'me' with a few snide comments, makes you the exact pathetic fool you've set out to fight.
I come here to enjoy an intelligent discussion with a few people who like something we have in common. I've tried the PVP forums, but found an incredible inundation of immaturity and short-tempered-ness from people who live as stated above. People like R.W., Sage, julie, j and jai are interesting to talk to. That's it. That's the whole secret. Less adolscent b.s. and more good conversation.
Of course, not being an expert blogger, it took me a few moments to realize that I could apply a handle to my posts without signing up with blogger. Thus allowing me to set my basic anonymity apart from the other shit-stirrer's who only come here to create confusion. (Even an "artist" trying to protect himself from others can come up with a new name to help keep conversations straight.)

Dead pet is a damn good reason, asshole. And did you really expect him to create a real buffer after 2 years of talking about it? Get over it already. It's a free comic. A COMIC! Nobody beat cancer because Peanuts was reliable.
Well thank originaljes, I hope to try to make MOST of what I say intellegent. I believe it is mostly his sickness causing the lateness, and Im not screaming that its late (even though don't bring up that hes had some scheduling problems in the past THAT gets you banned from the forums). It sounds more from is blog the he is hurt by the kitty dying but not enough to stop doing work (comforting his wife maybe) but his twitters sound like he has a nice summer cold that sucks no matter who you are. All you need is a reoccurence of his MRSA (i think thats what he had) and Kurtz has had some of the worst non-life threatening sicknesses for the whole year :).
Sorry 'bout my attitude. I guess I'm exactly the kind of person Anonymous likes to target.
From now on, I'm going to consider them all one person.
